ETHIOPE JOURNAL OF ENGLISH, LITERARY AND CULTURAL STUDIES: JOURNAL OF THE DEPARTMENT OF ENGLISH AND LITERARY STUDIES, DELTA STATE UNIVERSITY, ABRAKA, DELTA STATE, NIGERIA
The Ethiope Journal of English, Literary, and Cultural Studies (ISSN: 0795-5413) is an interdisciplinary journal that explores topical and generative issues in English linguistics and in literary and cultural studies. We recognise that African humanities research is both problem-based and knowledge oriented, and our aim is to provide a platform for scholars to analyse and theorise Africa in a way that is generative, conversational and decolonial. Specifically, the journal focuses on both the analytical and theoretical approaches to knowledge production in the context of Africa and the Global South. We want to curate papers that are hinged on African indigenous paradigms and approaches or that seek to extend, reimagine, or contextualise current theoretical or analytical approaches in English language studies and in literary and cultural studies.
We invite papers that dwell on all aspects of English language studies, including phonetics/phonology, semantics, syntax, discourse analysis, pragmatics, stylistics, ESL, ESP etc. We also welcome papers that theorise literary and cultural texts, including film, still and moving images, music and dance, photographs, cultural objects, spaces and places, society and social formations, and other relevant corpora. While we accept purely analytical essays, we encourage authors to focus on theorising the texts or data they engage with. In particular, we welcome theoretical conversations that implicate postcolonial subjecthood, ecocritical approaches (especially postcolonial ecocriticism), feminism and gender studies, new trends in linguistics, object-oriented criticism and approaches, and other generative approaches to knowledge production. Authors are encouraged to do original theorisation rather than adopt extant theoretical frameworks. They may also extend the scope of extant theories and approaches based on the material they present and discuss.
Furthermore, papers with interdisciplinary approaches are also welcomed. We recognise that knowledge production is an elastic phenomenon, and that bright ideas might implicate various fields. Interesting multi-modal, eclectic, or collaborative research is encouraged in this journal.
JOURNAL POLICY
The Ethiope Journal of English, Literary and Cultural Studies is published biennially by the Department of English and Literary Studies, Delta State University Abraka, Delta State, Nigeria. All papers submitted to this maiden edition of the journal had undergone double-blind peer review and published papers are well researched, original and data-driven.
Contributors are to submit an e-copy of their manuscript for assessment and publication to ethiopejournal@delsu.edu.ng or ethiopejournal@gmail.com. Such manuscripts should be original and not under consideration for publication elsewhere and should not have been published in any other journal.
Submitted manuscript which should not exceed 7000 words should be typeset in MS Word Times New Roman Font 12, with double line spacing. The first page should include the title of the manuscript, name(s), and institutional affiliation/address, abstract (not more than 250 words and with not more than six keywords). Manuscripts should conform to the current APA or MLA style sheet. Author(s) of published papers will derive the benefits from peer-review of contributions by seasoned scholars, global visibility and receipt of hard copies as well as soft copies of their papers.
The twelve papers in this maiden edition of the journal cut across disciplines in cultural, media studies and sub-disciplines in English and literary studies. The contributors include seasoned and renowned scholars of international repute and young astute scholars with burning desire to excel in academics. The first article titled: “Folklore and African Poetry in the Age of Globalization” by Prof Ojaide is on cultural studies. Prof. Ojaide is a renowned poet and professor of international repute from the University of North Carolina, USA. It is pertinent to note that the contributors are from universities across the globe. GLOBAL JOURNAL ARTICLES, CONFERENCE PROCEEDINGS AND BOOKS INDEXING BODY
In the evolving landscape of academic publishing, the importance of indexing bodies cannot be understated. The Global Journal Articles, Conference and Books Indexing Body (GJCBB) stands out as a key player in enhancing the visibility and accessibility of institutions and individual scholarly work across various disciplines.
The Purpose of GJCBB
GJCBB operates as a comprehensive indexing service that meticulously curates a wide range of institutions' academic outputs, including journal articles, conference proceedings, and published books. By systematically organizing and indexing scholarly materials, GJCBB provides researchers, academics, and institutions with a reliable resource for discovering relevant literature.
One of GJCBB's primary functions is to ensure that indexed works are peer-reviewed, upholding the quality and credibility of the content. This commitment to quality is crucial not only for the integrity of individual articles and publications but also for the overall trustworthiness of the academic community. Moreover, GJCBB employs a rigorous evaluation process to select the works that meet its high standards for indexing, reinforcing its role as a guardian of academic excellence.
GJCBB seeks to promote interdisciplinary collaboration by providing a platform for diverse academic fields. The indexing body encourages researchers from various disciplines to access and cite works across fields. This cross-disciplinary approach enriches research dialogues and fosters innovation.
GJCBB enhances the visibility of underrepresented voices in academia. By prioritizing inclusivity in its indexing process, GJCBB strives to ensure that works from emerging scholars, conferences, and books receive International recognition. This goal is especially pertinent in a global academic landscape where access to traditional publishing routes can be limited for many scholars.
GJCBB serves as a trusted intermediary in the academic publishing ecosystem. By offering transparent, equitable indexing services, GJCBB facilitates the dissemination of knowledge, thereby contributing to the advancement of research and scholarship worldwide.
Ultimately, the Global Journal Articles, Conference and Books Indexing Body embodies a crucial resource for scholars seeking to elevate their work and engage with the broader academic community. GJCBB stands as a pillar of support for researchers, institutions, and the pursuit of knowledge in an increasingly interconnected world. As academia continues to evolve, the role of indexing bodies like GJCBB will only become more vital in shaping the future landscape of scholarly communication.
THE ETHICS OF GLOBAL JOURNAL ARTICLES, CONFERENCE PROCEEDINGS, AND BOOKS INDEXING BODY (GJCBB)
In an increasingly digitized world, the accessibility and dissemination of academic research have taken on newfound significance. Global Journal Articles, Conference Proceedings, and Books Indexing Body (GJCBB) plays a critical role in this landscape by providing indexing services that enhance the visibility and credibility of scholarly work. However, this responsibility also comes with profound ethical considerations that must be addressed to maintain the integrity of the academic community.
At the heart of GJCBB’s mission is the commitment to uphold ethical standards in research publication and indexing. The indexing body must adhere to principles that promote transparency, fairness, and accountability in the evaluation of research outputs.
Moreover, GJCBB must navigate issues of plagiarism and intellectual property rights. The ethical handling of authorship and credit is paramount in academic publishing. GJCBB must implement robust policies to detect and prevent plagiarism, promoting a culture of original research and proper attribution. By fostering ethical research practices, GJCBB protects the rights of authors and also enhances the credibility of the indexed contents.
Another ethical consideration pertains to inclusivity and diversity within the indexing process. GJCBB has the responsibility to ensure that it provides equal opportunities for researchers from a variety of backgrounds, institutions, and geographic locations. It must actively work towards indexing a diverse range of publications that reflect the global nature of academic inquiry. This can involve reaching out to underserved communities and promoting interdisciplinary research that encompasses a broader spectrum of perspectives.
The ethical implications of data management and privacy also cannot be overlooked. In the digital age, researchers must navigate issues related to the handling of sensitive data, including personal information and proprietary research findings.
THE BENEFITS OF GLOBAL JOURNAL ARTICLES, CONFERENCE PROCEEDINGS, AND BOOKS INDEXING BODY (GJCBB)
The Global Journal Articles, Conference Proceedings, and Books Indexing Body (GJCBB) is a significant player in academia, benefiting researchers, institutions, and the broader community in numerous ways.
One of the primary advantages of GIB is the enhancement of visibility for published work. Authors, particularly early-career researchers, often struggle to get their work noticed amid the vast sea of academic publications. By indexing journal articles, conference proceedings, and books, GJCBB provides a centralized database where research output can be easily discovered. This not only increases citations but also builds the reputation of authors and their affiliated institutions. In a competitive academic landscape, indexed articles can significantly elevate one's academic profile.
Moreover, GJCBB contributes to the credibility and quality assurance of scholarly communication. Researchers are increasingly concerned about the proliferation of predatory journals that compromise academic integrity. GJCBB evaluates and indexes only reputable and high-quality publications, thereby helping researchers identify trustworthy sources of information.
GJCBB serves as an essential tool for research impact assessment. Many academic institutions and funding bodies require researchers to demonstrate the impact of their work through citation metrics. GJCBB’s indexing system not only tracks citations effectively but also offers various metrics that can help gauge the influence of research within academic and non-academic circles. This information is valuable for researchers seeking grants, promotions, or tenure, as it provides tangible evidence of the impact of their contributions.
Another significant benefit of GJCBB is its facilitation of global collaboration among researchers. The indexing body connects scholars from various disciplines and geographical regions, fostering an environment conducive to interdisciplinary research. The interconnectedness that GJCBB promotes allows researchers to discover others working on similar topics, leading to potential collaborations, knowledge exchange, and innovative solutions to pressing global challenges.
Furthermore, GJCBB makes research accessible to a wider audience, including policymakers, industry, professionals, and the interested public. Traditionally, much of academic research has been locked behind paywalls, limiting its reach and impact. With GJCBB’s indexing, more research work becomes accessible, encouraging knowledge sharing and informed decision-making across different sectors. This democratization of information is crucial in addressing global academic issues, fostering evidence-based policymaking, and driving societal progress.
GJCBB INDEXING FEES
One key factor that often comes into play during the publication process is publication fees. The Global Journal Articles, Conference Proceedings, and Books Indexing Body (GJCBB) has set specific publication fees that potential institutions and authors should be familiar with before submitting their work.
The primary aim of GJCBB is to maintain high standards of academic publishing while ensuring that the costs remain reasonable for authors. The publication fee structure is designed to balance accessibility for researchers and scholars, regardless of their funding situation, while also covering the administrative and operational costs associated with the review, editing, and updating of submitted works.
Breakdown of indexing Fees
The indexing fees for GJCBB vary based on several factors, including the type of publication and the specific needs of the author. For instance, journal articles may incur different costs compared to conference proceedings or book submissions. Understanding these differences is crucial for authors planning their budgets for research dissemination.
1. Journal Articles: The indexing fee for journal articles covers article formatting and online publication. The fee can also vary according to the journal's impact factor and indexing status. However, GJCBB indexes one article with a single author for $4 and $6 for multiple authors.
2. Conference Proceedings: Those who wish to publish their conference papers under the GJCBB framework may find the publication fees to be comparatively lower than those for journal articles. This is typically due to the reduced scope of the review process and the expedited timeline for conference-related publications. Moreover, GJCBB indexes one conference proceedings for a single is $3 and $5 for multiple authors.
3. Books: The fees associated with book publication vary greatly depending on the length of the manuscript, the resources required for production, and distribution choices. Minimum indexing fee for one book is $12.

The application of quantitative and qualitative research provides managers with the tools necessary to make informed decisions. One pertinent area of exploration is how cultural narratives shape management practices across different societies. Understanding the cultural context in which a business operates is critical for global success. Cross-cultural management research examines how diverse perspectives can enrich organizational culture, enhance communication, and lead to improved problem-solving. Such insights are particularly relevant in an increasingly globalized economy, where managers face the challenges of navigating diverse workforces and consumer bases.

Many academic journals, including AA-HUMANITIES, require authors to pay a publication fee. This fee plays a crucial role in facilitating the editorial and production processes of the journal. Here are a few key reasons why publication fees are significant:
- Sustaining Journal Operations: The publication fee helps cover various operational costs associated with running a journal, such as editorial management, peer review, typesetting, online article publication, website subscription and distribution. These costs can be substantial, and fees ensure that the journal can maintain its standards and service quality.
2.Maintaining Quality: By charging a publication fee, the journal can invest more in quality control measures. This includes rigorous peer review processes and editorial oversight, which are essential for maintaining the integrity and credibility of published work.
3.Open Access Models: Many academic journals are shifting towards open access publishing, where research is made available to the public without subscription fees. Publication fees help support this model, allowing broader access to research findings and promoting knowledge dissemination.
- Encouraging Responsible Research: Knowing there is a financial investment involved can motivate authors to ensure their work is of high quality and rigor. It encourages scholars to invest time and effort into their submissions, which ultimately benefits the academic community.
Article Publication Fee Structure
The publication fee is $40 for a single author, and $70 for many authors. The journal does not collect peer review fee. Publication fee is paid if the manuscript is accepted for publication.
